The First Post--Our Adventures Over the Summer

Well just to bring people up to date I thought I would start by posting a few pictures of the things we had recently done. This last summer we traveled by minivan across the US and back again. First we traveled to Kansas City to visit my brother Lance and his family. They just moved there and so we wanted to check it out as a possible place to move after school. We were able to go to Liberty Jail and see some of the sights in and around KC. After spending around 6 days there we set off for Utah to visit Amy's folks. We stayed there for a week and went to a few water parks while we were there. Then we went up to Idaho. We had a big reunion with all my brothers and their families. It was awesome b/c it was the first time in probably 5 years that we had all been together. It was awesome. We were able to ride the horses , shoot guns off the back porch and otherwise enjoy the simple pleasures of country living.

After we left Idaho we traveled to Tennesee via KC where we stopped overnight. We visited Abby and Justin there for a few days. They were experiencing record heat in Nashville while we were there so we didn't get out to see too many sights while we were there. After our four days there we came back home and started school the next day. All said we put 5250 miles on our van. The kids did great great but surprisingly enough Jackson was the best behaved of all the kids.

After we got home we were wasted from our "vacation." We did go camping one time to help us relax. We went to this place in PA called Pine Grove Furnace State Park. It was an old open-pit iron mine that fell into disuse in the late 1800's and since then has filled with water and is now a beautiful lake. The PA parks dept. has hauled in a bunch of sand and now there is a big sandy beach at the lake. It is awesome. I don't have any pics from the lake, here are some from our camp site.

Well, Madison took that last picture. I hope you like the show. Well that is what we have been up to. If you are reading this last paragraph I guess the blog didn't suck too bad. Tell us what you think. We were inspired to start blogging by a few our friends that have blogs. Hopefully now we can just keep up with it. Peace out until next time.

Welcome to the world of blogging Bryce! Now, you need to post consistently with pictures and updates, even if they seem trivial. Most of us like to know what's going on in the fantastic house of the Carters, even if it is a trailer house! Word, keeping it real.

Bryce, Long time no nothing! I guess this is the moment I have been waiting for...kind of. Ummm, congrats on all three of your kids! My wife does the blogging for us - I get bogged down with work and school.

Until next time,
